The Challenge
A management consultancy with 80+ consultants was using a combination of Outlook, Excel, and a legacy database for client management, project tracking, and resource scheduling. Partners had no real-time visibility into the sales pipeline or consultant utilization. Proposal creation was manual and inconsistent. Time tracking was done via weekly email reports that were frequently late and inaccurate. The firm needed a unified system for CRM, project management, time tracking, and performance analytics.
The Solution
Solzet delivered a combined Dynamics 365 Sales and Power Platform solution: D365 Sales configured with a custom consultancy sales process (qualification, proposal, negotiation, closed-won/lost stages with probability-weighted pipeline); custom Dataverse entities for engagements (linked to accounts and opportunities with team assignments, milestones, budgets, and deliverables); a Power Apps canvas app for consultant time entry (mobile-friendly, offline-capable, with project/task dropdown lookups and weekly submission/approval workflow via Power Automate); automated proposal generation using Word templates triggered from opportunities with pre-filled client data, scope, and pricing; Power BI dashboards for partners showing pipeline by stage, utilization by consultant, revenue per client, and margin analysis; and integration with the accounting system for invoice generation based on approved time entries.
